Tofu: What is it?

Tofu is a product made from soy milk, which has been thickened. In English, the term “bean curd” is also used to refer to tofu. Tofu is easy to prepare since you only need a little lemon juice and a little salt in addition to soy milk. It is a process similar to that of cheese. More specifically, tofu has many shapes, sizes, textures, and flavors, and we can choose what we want to use depending on the recipe we want to make. In this recipe, we will use natural tofu, which we often find on supermarket shelves.

Ingredients
  

  • 400 g tofu natur
  • 70 g cornflour
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp tumeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch of freshly ground pepper

Instructions
 

  • We wrap the tofu with kitchen paper and press it lightly with our hands to remove the liquids.
  • We mix the cornflour, the garlic powder, the onion powder, the smoked paprika, the turmeric, the salt, and the pepper in a bowl.
  • We cut the tofu into cubes and add it to the bowl mixture, covering each side.
  • We add the olive oil to a pan, and once it heats up, we add the tofu and fry it for about 3-4 ', turning it on all sides.
  • We serve the tofu optionally with rice or anything else, and enjoy!
