Tofu: What is it?
Tofu is a product made by soy milk, which has been thickened. In English, the term “bean curd” is also used to refer to tofu. Tofu is easy to prepare since you only need a little lemon juice and a little salt in addition to soy milk. It is a process similar to that of cheese. More specifically, tofu has many shapes, sizes, textures, and flavors, and we can choose what we want to use depending on the recipe we want to make. In this recipe, we will use natural tofu, which you can find at the supermarket.
Super Crispy Tofu
Are you one of those people who dislike tofu or think it has no taste? Today I am here to tell you that tofu is a material without any characteristic flavor, which is why it is suitable for many preparations. When you want to cook tofu, the way you cook it and the spices you use are essential. For this reason, in today’s recipe, we will prepare the most crispy and delicious tofu in a few minutes and with few ingredients. Of course, you can accompany your tofu with anything you want, such as rice, quinoa, pasta or even in a salad for adding the quantity of protein you need.
Crispy Fried Tofu
Ingredients
- 400 g natural tofu
- 70 g cornflour
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp tumeric
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pinch of freshly ground pepper
Instructions
- Wrap the tofu with kitchen paper and press it lightly with your hands to remove the liquids.
- Mix the cornflour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Cut the tofu into cubes and add it to the bowl mixture, covering each side.
- Add the olive oil to a pan, and once it heats up, add the tofu and fry it for about 3-4 ', turning it on all sides.
- Serve the tofu optionally with rice or anything else.
